See What Current and Past Clients Are Saying About A Nurse In The Family

  • Can you imagine having a nurse come with you or a loved one’s doctors visit?

“A Nurse In the Family” is an exemplary service that embodies the true essence of what a nurse is and does: ADVOCACY, PRUDENCE, AND PROFESSIONALISM.
Can you imagine having a nurse accompany you or a loved one to a doctor’s visit?
Making sure the proper labs are ordered, getting faster approval times on specialist referrals, and being educated on what kind of medications you are being prescribed are all essential aspects of your healthcare. Do you take blood pressure medication? Has your doctor thoroughly explained how your medication should be taken and why you need a specific kind of medication? These are just a few reasons why I value having
“A Nurse In the Family” to guide me along the way.
    Thank you!!
THIS IS THE FUTURE OF NURSING!! KEEP DOING WHAT YOU’RE DOING!!

Cheryl Ringo is the definition of heart-forward healthcare advocacy. I’ve had the pleasure of learning about the compassionate work Cheryl does through her company, A Nurse in the Family, and I can confidently say she brings deep clinical expertise, empathy, and professionalism to every family she supports. Her ability to guide seniors and their loved ones through complex care decisions—while fiercely advocating for autonomy and dignity—is something truly special. Cheryl is a rare blend of RN-level knowledge and real-world caregiving intuition. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trusted partner in navigating aging or senior care transitions!

  • She…asked the questions we didn’t know to ask. This is a perfect example of the saying “you don’t know what you don’t know”… and thankfully Cheryl knew.

We reached out to Cheryl once my Mom’s health became more complicated. We knew we needed help and that none of my Mom’s physicians saw the entire picture of her health. Cheryl became that medical professional for us. She attend doctor appointments and asked the questions we didn’t know to ask. She could connect the dots between what different doctors recommended and where the combination could do more harm than good. When a temporary hospitalization occured, she advocated for a safe (not hasty) discharge – encouraging the hospitalist to run additional tests to get to the root cause of the issues. She previewed skilled nursing facilities for us, interviewed caregivers there, and gave her professional opinion on the options. Her knowledge of the long term care insurance led to a successful pursuit of benefits when we didn’t think the criteria were yet met. This is a perfect example of the saying “you don’t know what you don’t know” – and thankfully Cheryl knew.

  • I was in shock at how quickly Cheryl
    managed the situation.

“I was in a state of panic when my friend started experiencing severe dizziness and vomiting. I thought it was time to call 911, but Cheryl immediately stepped into ER Nurse mode. With incredible expertise, she began asking all the right questions, determining how long the symptoms had been occurring.
She reviewed my friend’s medications and precisely administered the correct dosage every 15 minutes, carefully considering her size. Within 45 minutes, my friend was stabilized. I was in awe of how quickly and efficiently Cheryl managed the situation.
Watching her in action was nothing short of life-saving. I wholeheartedly recommend Cheryl to anyone in need of an on-set nurse who can handle critical situations with remarkable skill and compassion.”

  • She managed getting appointments, arranging for tests, explaining history and symptoms to many doctors…she has become a friend.

When my husband was diagnosed with dementia, I was at a loss as to what to do, and Cheryl took over. After she worked with him-taking him to doctor appointments, arranging physical therapy, helping me find in home care for him, and generally helping me know what next steps were.
Among other things, she managed getting appointments, arranging for tests, explaining history and symptoms to many doctors, driving me to appointments,
She has become a friend, and makes time to visit with us.
